Worm bins will be very useful in the winter composting. I feed them with fruits and vegetable scraps buried in shredded newspaper bedding. 1 pound of worms (about 1,000 of them) can turn 1/2 pound of kitchen waste into nutrient rich vermicompost in a few days.
